A friend told me that grief is a mysterious gift. It comes upon us to reveal truths when we least expect it, but the timing is somehow always perfect.

Grief does not rush… it shows no haste, no matter how much we wish that it vanish and leave no lasting mark. It lingers with ebbs and flows through the days and nights year after year – sometimes with a lengthy pause in between – and it is within that pause that we assume we are finally free.
