“Elemental”

Sometimes, spur-of-the-moment wins out over any amount of fastidious planning. Knowing that I eventually wanted to do some kind of four-elements piece, I failed for a long time to create what I felt was a design unique to my style. Then two nights ago, I sat down and started playing with the Owl tag and Ocean Jasper, and it all fell into place within minutes. 🙏💙

I’m incredibly fond of the vintage and definitely hippie flair, as it beckons back to a time when many of the lifestyle choices and practices that we see as fairly common now were laughed at, highly criticized, and even admonished. But I would like to give credit where credit is due, because for our Western culture at least, these “flower children” and “tree huggers” were the pioneers in getting back to our roots in a simpler, more unified manner. They paved the way for more open acceptance and use of natural remedies, implementing sustainable living practices, and taking steps necessary for preserving our natural resources… all the things we deem as having great personal and societal significance today.

Carbon, water, oxygen and electric impulse. These are the building blocks of not only you and I but every living thing on this planet. Whether a hippie perspective or not, they are the ties that bind us all together as a great and glorious collective of one, both scientifically and spiritually. And with each element tied so closely to us, it is only natural that we should feel their pull and long for the closeness of each.
