My Why – The expression “they just don’t make things like they used to” seems to apply to everything these days, but it especially applies to clothing. Clothing has become disposable in a wear and toss sort of way that isn’t kind to the earth and doesn’t provide for memorable favorite pieces that can be passed down to the next generation. There is nothing like being able to hand your child something that was yours, or theirs, as a baby for them to use for their baby. I remember being pregnant with my eldest and my mom giving me some of my baby things for her. It was so special and magical to share those things. The birth of my youngest daughter, my love of sewing & knitting, and belief in special heirlooms to pass down is what inspired Maezie and Moo.

Who I am – My name is Ellie and I am the owner of Maezie and Moo. Maezie and Moo is a Christian family owned small family business based in Harrisonburg, Virginia. My mission is to spread love and joy and memories through hand made one of a kind items that I sew or knit. My 5 beautiful daughters are also involved – they help model, design, and even help make some of the beautiful pieces you’ll find here in my shop. Part of my mission to spread love and joy includes for every dress sold we donate a dress for charity and for every blanket sold we donate a blanket to charity. I also participate in what I like to call bows against bullying – 10% of every bow sale is donated to anti-bullying organizations.
