Description
Each bag is made from a jacket that used to be worn by someone else. I clean them, deconstruct them, mend as necessary, and reinforce the pieces, using as many of the unique design elements from the original item as functional (pockets) and fun (button plackets as straps) elements in the new bag. I create as many pockets both inside and out with functionality in mind. The end result is a beautiful one of a kind creation that is stunning enough to garner compliments from strangers on the street while also being sturdy and functional enough to use every day.

I started making ties over 20 years ago for a family member who loved bow ties. I then began to make custom ties for a local bridal shop. Since neckties require a full yard of fabric due to a long diagonal cut, I ended up with a lot of scrap silk and began to look for was to use it in other things. I find used suit coats and make them into silk lined handbags and small makeup bags, make silk flowers and try them into hair clips, fascinators, and magnetic pins.Â
