This painting was born from the song “Whatever We Feel” by Sammy Rae and The Friends and, like the title suggests, there’s no one right way to see it. I have no profound artist statement. There are no deep metaphors carved into its brushstrokes. It’s simply rhythm, color, movement, and intuition. Whatever it is, it is.
One viewer described it as, “Deep sea. Bioluminescent plant life and the bones of ancient sea dinosaurs.”
Honestly? I think that’s pretty cool, but maybe to you it’s a forest or a galaxy. Or a memory. Or maybe it’s just some really satisfying textures and color play. You’re allowed to feel something. Or nothing. And that’s kind of the point.

Bee Noir is a multi-disciplinary artist and capricious creator who moves effortlessly between intuitive abstract painting, mixed media collage, jewelry making, sewing, embroidery, and whatever artful impulse strikes next.
When not crafting, she enjoys long walks in cemeteries, dramatically rolling her eyes at shirtless men on hiking trails (no one is impressed, Jason), and flipping off Cybertrucks at every available opportunity.
Her art is ethereal, emotive, and (according to some) reminiscent of mid-2000s Windows Media Player graphics. She believes in sustainability, collaboration, and building community.
