When I first had this design in mind, the phrase “Trust the process” immediately came to me as its theme. Little did I know how much that saying would be indicative of the entire creation process for this particular bracelet.

In attempting to bring this vision to life, this particular piece broke on me and sent beads flying in all directions… no less than 3 times in a row. After the first break, I thought it must have been the gauge cord I was using, so I switched to a thicker gauge and tried again. After only a few stretches, *SNAP*. It broke just as easily as the first one.

Then my suspicions turned to the new stainless steel ball spacers I was using. Upon inspection, they did kind of look like they had a sharp inner edge on the drill hole, so perhaps that was cutting through the cord when the piece got stretched out. I redid the design with new spacers, strung it up and began testing. A few stretches in gave me a false sense of security until *SNAP* again… beads all over the floor and under the furniture.

So now I had to step back and question whether or not I was meant to continue on with this process. Of the hundreds of pieces I have created over the last 2 years, I have never had so much trouble creating something. Was I ignoring the signs telling me that this piece was not meant to be, or did the whole “Trust the process” thing come to mind because ⭐️someone⭐️ already knew I was going to need that mindset to make it through? I decided the latter was true.

After some solemn reflection, I realized that Selenite is stone with a structure that almost inevitably shards as it is cut, and I suddenly realized that my problem was a rough drill hole from one of the Selenite beads. Not having a way to figure out exactly which bead was causing the issue, I replaced all 8 beads, restrung the design one more time, and held my breath. After several minutes of aggressively putting the bracelet on and taking it back off, I was at ease… the piece was not going to break this time. 🙏

I’m typically not fond of some the phrasing that the self-help and spirituality communities like to kick around, as those who use them seldom seem to grasp their true meaning; they become more gimmick slogans than actual words to live by. But in this instance I readily concede that trusting the process through to its lowest point allowed me to shed all expectations of outcome and put the it in the hands of something greater than myself. That release of control is a freeing thing, and the results are never anything short of exactly what they were meant to be. Guaranteed.
