Being present means bearing witness to the flow of all things, taking each in their stride and not fixating on any one thing.  It is recognizing that every sight, sound, smell, sensation, emotion and thought brings with it the gift of awareness; a better understanding of your state of being and what you may do in order to achieve more for yourself.  More contentment. More freedom from self-sabotage. More confidence. More joy. More ecstatic love of the moment.

The river that brought you hence can either drown you or carry you to better horizons; it all depends on whether or not you panic and bail from the raft, or trust that the current will deliver you to peaceful shores.  Remain always benevolent to your past, gracious to your present, and trusting in your future… and the stream by which life flows will always move toward your greatest good.
