It all started when i was 18. I was working a hard job in an aluminum extrusion plant, fancy, i know. Id clock in at 6:30 and leave after 7:15 or later(about 13 hours a shift). It was also rotating shifts so id work all day or all night.
During a day off i had stumbled upon a soap making video. It was relaxing to watch them make up beautiful soaps. My favorite part to watch was when they cut the soaps to reveal amazing and endless designs. I became hooked quickly and began to research soap making. I wasnt very lucky at first and only had a few guides to follow. I gathered up supplies in my online shopping cart but got instantly discouraged at checkout. The total cost was very high. I decided i shouldnt make soaps so i went on my way and continued what i was already doing. A year or so later i would find those same videos again, watch them all, gather supplies and then get discouraged and stop. It went on for years. I had gone through several jobs too and at this point i was a mom during the day, and a gas station worker through the night.
Finally, at 24 i found the videos again, but this time i found a different video, an educational one. I watched a whole in depth series of soap making, which guided me to do some reading studies. I had quit my job and decided the last bit of money from it would go to supplies. I finally had a budget in mind to get me my first 3 batches of soap, so i did it. I gave away most of those soaps and sold what i needed just to cover the cost of the next bars. Now ive made my own recipes and want to share my soaps with everyone.
