Goddess Ibu

Description
This broom has been kicking around in my brain for a couple of days now so I decided to put it together. I always craft with intent so I research the symbolism behind the adornments I use, as well as numbers, colors, etc. Imagine my surprise when I found Ibu: Goddess of moths (and creation). Reading a bit about her, seems fitting in these turbulent times. As well as moths, I added the pentacle which is symbolic of the 5 elements and the interconnection of all things. In the binding I focused on the number 13. Although thought to be unlucky in modern day North America, the number 13 was traditionally considered the number of manifestation and attraction. It’s often associated with various spiritual groups including:13 guests at the last supper in Christianity, 13 principles of the Jewish faith and the 13 original lunar months of the year. I always include the number 3, because it is broom crafting tradition, indicating the stages of life (maid/mother/crone).
