Description

Your head undoubtedly deserves to be warm! That amazing brain of yours naturally needs to be loved and swaddled in this squishy hat. The heat retained on your head as you wear this hat will be warm and toasty like a cup of hot cocoa.

The fun unique design is one of a kind! I crochet the grandiose flower and hand stitch it onto the hat. The leaves are felted onto the plush hat so they look like it is floating on the surface of the hat.

Size:

This hat fits very loosely and has a hemmed brim. This is not a form fitting hat, but fits sitting on the head similar to a bucket hat. It’s a great hat when wearing glasses.

The circumference measures 22 inches around, and has a height of 8.5 inches. Since this hat is knit it has some stretch to fit a impressive range of sized heads. It will fit anyone who likes a more snug fitting hat at 24-25” or if you like a loser hat down to 20” head.

Please measure your head with a flexible ruler to figure out the most suitable size for you.

Color description: Since all monitors, phones, tablets, or whatever you used to find this hat typically have color variation, so I will describe it for you here.

This stunning pastel pink is a warm cozy tone that is so creamy peach petal that you’ll see on a blossom in early spring. The complementary grandiose flower is crochet in a deep wine Malbec wool yarn. The leaves are a stunning green that is the color of a fir tree forest.

Material:

This warm squishy hat is made of 100% American wool. The wool is sourced, spun, dyed and then turned into a plush hat all in the USA. This wool is a fine micron wool and is soft enough to wear next to your skin.

When you purchase this hat, you are not only supporting my art and my family but you are also supporting…

  • The Local Yarn Shop

  • Wonderful farmers, Mills and Dye houses in the USA that produce the yarn

  • My local community in Scarborough, ME, through support of local activities.

Care:

This hat is 100% wool and should never meet with your washing machine or dryer. Hand wash, and lay flat to dry unless you’d like for it to be handed down to the nearest baby to you. I heartily recommend using a wool wash with lanolin. It naturally helps keep the wool really soft.

I use a wool wash when I complete my wool knit items so it has been infused with lanolin and is ready to wear.

About The End of the Yarn

My name is Tara, and I live in the middle of the woods, in Maine, surrounded by yarn and leaves. I am a lifelong fiber artist and maker. I started eagerly on my fiber art journey when my adorable grandmother taught me how to crochet at the age of eight while on a camping trip.

In Maine during the harsh winter, it gets bitterly cold, and we need to protect our heads, hands, torso, arms…well… pretty much our whole body. I started making necessary things to keep my family warm during these cold winters. I have made so many knit items and loved doing it so much I decided to share my knit talent with other delightful people in the world that also need to keep warm.

When creating a great knit item, I try, wherever possible, to use locally sourced yarns so that I can not only create amazing knitwear items, but support other independent businesses, dyers and especially the local yarn shops. There are so many unique breeds of sheep that provide amazing fleece for yarns! I discovered that mills across the USA are creating amazing wool yarns from the sheep raised right here in the USA.

My techniques to create with yarn range from machine knitting, hand knitting, crochet, embroidery and needle felting. I am always on the look out for new techniques to create even more one of a kind items to keep everyone warm and stylish.
