Description
6’0”, 2/2, 4 weight Custom Made bamboo fly rod #2274, made in our rod building shop in the Beautiful Flathead Valley, Montana. The rod blank was originally made by Gene Edwards.
The rod has a cap and single slide band RL Reel Seat with a beautiful maple burl wood insert, a 6” stubby cork handle, Struble Manufacturing cream colored agate stripper guide, Snake Brand black guides all wrapped in 0 sized chestnut brown silk thread wraps and tipped with 0 sized dark brown silk thread.
The blank received 20 coats of hand rubbed Gorilla glue before adding hardware. All thread wraps have 3 coats of Helmsman Spar varnish. After drying the whole rod received 5 coats of hand rubbed Gorilla glue to preserve it’s natural beauty.
The fly rod was lawn cast with Cortland Sylk 4 Weight WF fly line. Very accurate to 35 feet with reserve to 50 feet. A nice fast action little bamboo fly rod.
