Each purchase is for 2 sets enough to make one complete table. Measures 34″ x 27 1/2′. Adding your own 2 x 6 top stretcher will build it up to 29″ which is a standard height for table legs and saves the expense of paying the extra weight and labor to provide what can easily be attained by yourself.
The bottom foot measures 5″ h x 6 1/4ish w x 34″ long or can be made to your particular dimensions for an extra cost. Predrilled and hardware included. Bolts are sunken in at the bottom so as not to show. Heavy duty 1/2″ x 8″ lag bolts and washers will require a 3/4 socket to assemble. I personally epoxy the assemblies together in addition to the bolts. Some people use yellow glue. Both will work.
Made of southern hard pine. The same timber used in flooring, floor and ceiling joists as well as load bearing beams, etc. due to it’s strength and durability. Hard pine is comparable to red oak in strength. It is much stronger than soft white pine which is notorious for stripping out and becoming wobbly and will hold fasteners much better. And far superior to the pine used for stud material which splits excessively.
Antique pine barnwood is hard pine which is a testament to it’s durability. It has beautiful grain patterns not found in other pines.
They are turned by hand with chisels and without a pattern. By eye and not by an industrial copy lathe. This makes them truly one of a kind, authentic hand made turnings that will add value to your table at the end of the day. They are not exact duplicates, but to tell the difference you might need calipers. They work as well with barn or reclaimed wood as they do with new wood. They are perfect for antique reproductions.
